International hardwood specialist Danzer closes his plant in Souvans \/ France. The production site, which specializes in sliced oak wear layers for engineered hardwood flooring, faces a decline in demand for veneer and a challenging raw material supply.<\/em><\/p>\n

Due to these specific circumstances, the company is forced to close the plant.<\/p>\n

Only two years after the factory\u2019s modernization and a 15 million euros investment, hardwood company Danzer has to shut down its plant in Souvans, France. The ambitious plan to increase the plant\u2019s capacity and to specialize in the production of sliced thick-cut wear layers could not be realized. Hence, Danzer plans to close down the site. The decision was presented to staff representatives yesterday. The decreasing demand for PEFC-certified veneer and the limited availability of suitable raw materials in the region made this step inevitable:<\/p>\n
