In recent years, with the continuous advance of the \u201cBelt and Road\u201d construction, timber sales in Sichuan have been climbing. Statistics show that the trade volume of wood and wood products in Sichuan Qingbaijiang International Timber Exchange Center in 2018 reached 2 million cubic meters, a 135% increase from 2017. Among them, the annual sales volume of Russian pine, such as white pine and scotch pine, reached 1 million cubic meters, with sales of about 1.6 billion yuan. In an interview with Chinese reporters, Xintianshun Building Materials Management Department of Qingbaijiang District said that at present, the monthly import volume of pine in the Qingbaijiang timber trading market in Sichuan is about 40 trains, the contract is 100,000 cubic meters per month, and the annual sales volume exceeds 1 million cubic meters.<\/p>\n

\"This huge amount couldn't have been imagined in the past few years.\" In the last years, the import of pine construction materials in the southwestern Sichuan market was less than 2\/3 of what is at the moment. Imports of pines have grown so rapidly during the last years, mainly thanks to the \u201cOne Belt, One Road\u201d national strategy.<\/span><\/p>\n

The \u201cOne Belt, One Road\u201d construction enhances the openness of the western region, and provides a powerful new momentum for the development of the market. In recent years, Sichuan has continuously improved the provincial \u201cOne Belt, One Road\u201d construction project reserve. There are 167 key projects in the \u201cBelt and Road\u201d initiative with a total planned investment of over 1.4 trillion yuan. Such a large scale of infrastructure construction provides a broad market space for pine wood, and the demand for pine wood is also rising.<\/p>\n

In addition, the continuous improvement of the property market in the western region in recent years has also provided benefits for the popularity of the pine market. According to official statistics, the Chinese housing market in 2018 shows some diversified patterns.
