SCA has signed an agreement to acquire Sundin Mezs SIA from the unlisted Swedish company Livland Skog AB. Sundin Mezs SIA owns forest and land assets in Latvia.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The purchase price is approximately SEK 260 million (Euro 24.2 million) on a debt-free basis.<\/p>\n

The acquisition comprises 9\u00a0600 hectares, of which 8\u00a0500 are forest land. The standing timber volume amounts to 900\u00a0000 cubic metres.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year SCA acquired 10\u00a0000 hectares of forest land in Latvia and 10\u00a0000 hectares of forest land in Estonia.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Baltic states are part of our raw material base\u201d, says Jonas M\u00e5rtensson, President Forest.\u201dWe have been present in the market for a long time as a buyer of timber. Having our own forest resource strengthens our operations in the region.\u201d<\/p>\n
