The average price of Russian wood pellets sent to the European Union countries in the first quarter of 2019 has increased by 10% as compared to the same period of last year. The most expensive Russian wood pellets were sent to Italy (\u20ac193\/tonne) and to the\u00a0United Kingdom (an average of\u00a0\u20ac167\/ton).<\/em><\/p>\n

Russian pellets sent to Denmark in Q1\/2019<\/p>\n

<\/span>\u00a0had an average price of\u00a0\u20ac146\/tonne, a +10% increase over Q1\/2018, while pellets exported to Sweden were priced at\u00a0\u20ac145 (a 5% growth yoy).<\/p>\n

According to the latest Eurostat data, the pace of wood pellets exported from Russia to the European Union has also increased in Q1\/2019. After a 8% increase in 2018, Russian exports were up in quantity by 12% and 24% in value.<\/p>\n

During the mentioned period,\u00a0Denmark received the highest quantity of wood pellets from Russia.\u00a0The country received 130 thousand tonnes of wood pellets, worth at\u00a0\u20ac\u00a019 million, which represents a 21% increase in terms of volume, but a 34% increase in terms of value.<\/p>\n

UK's imports from Russia increased by 39%, to 54 thousand tons, and by 58% in terms of value.<\/p>\n
