All production lines at Mets\u00e4 Wood's P\u00e4rnu birch plywood mill in Estonia have now been started. More workforce has been recruited for the new lines, the mill currently employs some 170 people in production.<\/em><\/p>\n

The factory is expected to reach its full production capacity by the end of 2019. As a raw material, the mill uses high quality Finnish birch veneer, which is produced at Mets\u00e4 Wood's veneer mill in Central Finland.<\/p>\n

With its investment, Mets\u00e4 Wood is responding to the growing demand for birch plywood worldwide, especially in the construction and light transport industry.<\/p>\n

The mill makes use of latest technology and it is also Mets\u00e4 Wood's first production facility utilizing digital modeling.<\/p>\n

The annual production capacity of the P\u00e4rnu birch plywood mill is 50,000 cubic metres. This increases Mets\u00e4 Wood\u2019s total net production capacity by around 30,000 cubic metres.<\/p>\n

The birch plywood mill in P\u00e4rnu uses birch veneers as a raw material. The veneers are produced in \u00c4\u00e4nekoski in central Finland. The wood is acquired from Finland, mainly from the forests of Mets\u00e4 Group\u2019s owner-members.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
