In the third quarter of 2018, the\u00a0average roundwood purchase prices<\/strong>\u00a0in Latvia have continued their booming trend. The sharpest rise in the\u00a0softwood segment<\/strong>\u00a0was recorded in purchase prices for pine logs (diameter up to 14 cm), which in the 3rd quarter of 2018 increased by 37.20% as compared to the 3rd quarter of 2017, up to EUR 51.88 per cubic meter.<\/em><\/p>\n

When compared to the\u00a0third quarter of 2017,\u00a0spruce sawlogs (d>14)<\/strong>\u00a0price grew by EUR 19.36\/m3 excluding VAT, while the purchase prices for spruce logs diameter 18-26 cm increased by 12% or\u00a08\/m3.\u00a0<\/span>The purchase prices of\u00a0pine logs<\/strong>\u00a0in diameter 14\u201318 cm rose by 20% or EUR 12\/m3 excl. VAT.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0the third quarter of 2018, the highest price increases in the\u00a0hardwood segment<\/strong>\u00a0were recorded in the purchase prices of\u00a0birch logs<\/strong>\u00a0in diameter 18\u201324 cm- up to 35% or EUR 16\/m3 excl. VAT. Also, the purchase prices of\u00a0birch logs<\/strong>\u00a0in of over 24 cm were up by\u00a0of 24 % or EUR 16\/m3.<\/p>\n

Purchase prices of\u00a0aspen logs<\/strong>\u00a0in diameter 18\u201324 cm and in diameter over 24 cm grew considerably \u2013 by 18% and 21%, respectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n<\/colgroup>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
