A sense that winter\u2019s days were numbered among traders of western species and Canadian S-P-F fueled wholesaler short covering in both cash and futures.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Gains on the board Wednesday and Thursday helped bolster confidence among some buyers, but not all, particularly those still struggling with the weather. Snow and frigid temperatures kept OSB shipments to job sites at a near-standstill in northern markets. Wet weather continued to blunt demand across the South. Southern Pine plywood sales were inconsistent during an overall slow week of trading, but mills were hesitant to alter their approach to the market.
