The Finnish softwood lumber exports to the world dropped by -6% during January - December 2018, as compared to the same period of 2017. The softwood lumber volumes reached 8,0 million m3 during the mentioned period, a drop by more than 630,000 m3 as compared to 2017.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The softwood lumber exports to the European Union grew slightly by 1%, reaching 3,2 million during January-December 2018, as compared to the 3,1 million exported in 2017.\u00a0<\/span>The United Kingdom was still the biggest\u00a0European softwood lumber\u00a0importer from Finland and but increased the volumes imported slightly by 1%, to 847,583 m3.<\/p>\n

Finnish softwood lumber exports to China dropped the most, by -39% and reached a volume of 1,0 million m3 during January-December 2018, as compared to the 1,6 million m3 exported in the previous year.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Exports to North Africa reported the highest increases (+19%), to 1,9 million m3.\u00a0Egypt's imports of softwood lumber from Finland rose by 5% during the mentioned period and reached a volume of 1,2 million m3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
