The largest wood pellet production plant in Spain has been put into operation in the town of Erla in the province of Zaragoza.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Built by the Aragonese renewable energy company\u00a0Forestalia\u00a0, the investment in\u00a0Arapellet plant reached 17 million euros,\u00a0which have had as a destination both the new facilities of the factory and the start-up of an electric line that supplies the industrial estate of the municipality.<\/p>\n

Although the plant is already working, only in the coming months will reach its full performance.\u00a0Then, according to a spokeperson of the company, the plant will have\u00a0a production capacity of 140,000 tons per year. Production in mainly destined\u00a0for export, specifically to France and Italy.\u00a0It will also generate 30 jobs, distributed in shifts that will allow production 24 hours a day.<\/p>\n

As a raw material, Arapellet uses wood and by-products from the use of sustainable forestry, but also agricultural waste from the energy crops that Forestalia has in Tauste, La Cartuja and Zuera in Spain.\u00a0And all of them will come from the clearing and cleaning of mountains, as well as auctions.\u00a0Raw material supply will operate within a radius of 250 kilometers around Erla.<\/p>\n

About Forestalia<\/strong><\/p>\n

Forestalia is a business group dedicated to renewable energies (wind, photovoltaic and biomass). It was founded in Zaragoza in 2011.\u00a0Forestalia\u2019s current project portfolio is 3.6 GW of renewable energies.
