The United States is considering at least partial loosening of import duties on Chinese products to accelerate trade negotiations.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

According to the Wall Street Journal,\u00a0Steve Mnuchin<\/span>\u00a0, Finance Minister,\u00a0has raised the idea of \u200b\u200bgiving up some or all of the import duties on $ 250 billion of Chinese imports.<\/p>\n

The intention would be to get China to make concessions in the negotiations and promote the end of the trade war and long-term agreement with China.<\/p>\n

Trade negotiations are led by\u00a0Robert Lighthizer<\/span>\u00a0from the United States\u00a0, whose attitude towards China is a little bit stricter than with Mnuchin.<\/p>\n

The US Treasury Department said that Mnuch or Lighthizer have not made any official recommendations on this matter, and that talks between the US and China are still far from the goal.<\/p>\n

The Wall Street Journal's news got the New York stock market rising.\u00a0Asian stock exchanges also opened on Friday.<\/p>\n

Concerns about the war on trade have contributed to the downturn in stock exchanges in recent months.\u00a0Investors were pleased to receive uncertain information about progress.<\/p>\n

The US and China must reach some kind of trade agreement by the beginning of March, otherwise US import duties will be tightened further.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
