Holzindustrie Schweighofer plans to construct a biomass cogeneration plant at its site in Kodersdorf, Germany. The plant is expected to be operational by 2020.<\/em><\/p>\n

According to the announcement, with EUR 24 million investment the company plans to build one of Germany\u2019s most modern plants for the production of green energy.<\/p>\n

Kodersdorf sawmill is specialized in processing coniferous timber and has a cutting capacity of 1.2 million m3 of timber per year. The energy-efficient kiln drying is supplied with heat from its own heating plant (20 MW). The mills\u2019 planing capacity is about 360,000 m\u00b3 annually. Its kiln drying capability is 560,000 m\u00b3. Around 430 employees are currently working in this mill. Holzindustrie Schweighofer acquired the mill in 2015 from Klausner.<\/p>\n

The company is a part of the Schweighofer Group. The group is active in the areas of wood industry, viscose pulp production, bio-energy production, forestry and real estate. Headquatered in Austria, Holzindustrie Schweighofer started operating the first sawmill in Romania in 2003 and since that time became a leading company in the European wood processing industry.
