Russian softwood lumber exports increased sharply in the first eight months of the year, both\u00a0in value and in volume terms.<\/em><\/p>\n

According to the Russian Federal Customs Office, during the first eight months of the current year Russia exported 12.835 million tonnes of sawn timber.<\/p>\n

That is 5.3% more than during the respective period of the last year. The total value of the exported Russian\u00a0softwood lumber\u00a0increased as well. In January-August it came up to $3.031 billion having gone up by 17.2%.<\/p>\n

In their turn, Russian logs exports went down in volume terms, but increased in value terms. In January-August 2018, the Russian logs exports came up to 12.148 million m3, having gone down by 5.5% year-on-year.<\/p>\n

The total value of the Russian logs exported in January-August 2018 came up to slightly over $1 billion, that is 3.1% more than during the respective period of 2017.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
