Due to a massive boost of exports from France, total European softwood logs deliveries to China have outpaced those of softwood lumber in the first five months of 2018.<\/em><\/p>\n

According to the latest Eurostat figures, in January-May 2018, EU's softwood logs exports to China increased more than 8 times over the same period of 2017.<\/p>\n

<\/span>France has exported most of the total European volume, with a share of 82% of all European exports (and a\u00a05,811%\u00a0increase yoy), followed by Poland and Estonia.<\/p>\n

Softwood lumber exports declined in the same period after many years. Finland, Sweden and Germany accounted for 84% of the overall EU exports. Year-on-year, Finnish exports dropped by 25% while Swedish softwood lumber shipments to China remained stable. Meanwhile, those from Germany dropped by -49%.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n\n
