Wood pellets price in Germany slightly fell during July 2018. Thus, the average price for ENplus A1 pellets reached EUR 236,36\/t, which is 0.6% less than in June and 2.2% more than in July 2017.<\/em><\/p>\n

During the mentioned period, one kilogram of wood pellets costs 23.36 cents and one kilowatt hour (kWh) of heat from pellets costs 4.73 cents. Pellets currently have a price advantage of about 28% over heating oil and about 20% for natural gas, as reported by the German Energy Wood and Pellet Association e.V. (DEPV).<\/p>\n

\"Since pellets are usually the cheapest in the summer, customers should now refill their storages<\/em>,\" recommends DEPV Managing Director Martin Bentele. \"Pellets have been significantly cheaper than oil and gas in recent years. In the summer months, the price drops again, making heating with pellets economically even more attractive<\/em>.\"<\/p>\n

Regional prices (for 6 tonnes purchases) in July 2018: Southern Germany: EUR 235.39\/t, Northern and Eastern Germany: EUR 237.79 per tonne, Central Germany: EUR 235.39\/ t.<\/p>\n
