Sabah's\u00a0chief minister,\u00a0Shafie Apdal, announced that he\u00a0will instruct the state Forestry Department to immediately impose a ban on the export of logs. This is a temporary\u00a0measure designed to safeguard the resources in Sabah.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe purpose of this ban is to ensure that logging activities will benefit Sabahans first. We want to make sure our wealthm\u00a0 is fully managed and maximised by Sabahans before it is exported<\/em>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

As reported by Free Malaysia Today, regarding the future of the foundation, Shafie said the foundation would try not to venture into activities that it was not familiar with.<\/p>\n
