SIA\u00a0Graanul Invest\u00a0has concluded an agreement No. 4.1.1.0\/17\/A\/029 with the Central Finance and Contracting Agency of\u00a0Latvia\u00a0and the Ministry of Economics of the Republic of\u00a0Latvia\u00a0on the realization of the project \u201cRebuilding\u00a0wood pellet\u00a0production lines in SIA Graanul Invest.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

According to the announcement, the aim of the project is to rebuild existing wood pellet production lines to reduce energy consumption in the production process and ensure production capacity increase.<\/p>\n

Result of the project will be reduction of energy consumption in the production process and increase of production capacity, consumption of electricity will be reduced by 20.08% per ton of pellets and the total energy savings of 4 559 MWh per year.<\/p>\n

The total amount of Cohesion Fund financing is EUR 600,600.00.<\/p>\n

Earlier, Graanul Mets\u00a0acquired forestry company Karo Mets in Estonia.<\/p>\n

Graanul Invest is active\u00a0in the fields of forestry, development of bioenergy and production of renewable energy. It is the biggest producer of wood pellets in Europe, which operates\u00a0\u00a011 large and modern pellet factories, two sales organisations, four combined heat and power plants (CHP plants) and three companies engaged in forest management and harvesting.\u00a0AS Graanul Invest employs 501 persons.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
