Belarus introduced a regulation on compulsory licensing of foreign trade activities regarding export of certain timber types outside the Eurasian Economic Union.<\/em><\/p>\n

The respective decision is defined by the Decree no. 59\u00a0issued by the country's Council of Ministers as of January 25, 2018.<\/p>\n

According to the Decree those who export certain types of timber, namely logs (HS code 4403) and rotary-peeled masts (HS code 4404), outside the Eurasian Economic Union must apply for a license (permit) to do so at the Belarus' Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Ministry with the concurrence of the Forestry Ministry.<\/p>\n

The key clauses of the\u00a0Decree came into force on February 1, 2018 and will apply until July 1, 2018.<\/p>\n
