Stora Enso's Wood Products division recorded 18.5% increase\u00a0in operational earnings before investment, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) in Q4\/2017, compared to Q4\/2016.<\/em><\/p>\n

This is the highest ever fourth quarter operational EBITA at EUR 25 million, an increase of EUR 8 million or 47.1%. Improved\u00a0net mill price and the increasing share of value added to the business offset slightly higher raw material and fixed costs.<\/p>\n

Stora Enso has made some strategic investments: Mur\u00f3w sawmill in Poland, laminated veneer lumber (LVL) line in Varkaus,\u00a0Finland and pellet production at Ala sawmill in Sweden, which have contributed to a 6% growth in sales.<\/p>\n

Stora Enso is currently investing in a new cross laminated timber (CLT) unit at the Gruv\u00f6n sawmill in Sweden is proceeding as planned. The\u00a0production is scheduled to begin during the first quarter of 2019.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
