S\u00f6dra has decided to increase their\u00a0purchase price for pulpwood and pine logs, as the demand for softwood and hardwood pulp is high and the sawn timber market stays strong.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

To ensure continued high levels of supply, S\u00f6dra is raising its purchase price for pine logs by SEK 30\/cubic metre of solid volume underbark (m \u1dbe sub) and introducing a contracting premium of SEK 25\/m \u1dbe sub for softwood and hardwood pulp.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe strategic investments in S\u00f6dra\u2019s pulp mills in recent years have led to a steady increase in softwood pulpwood consumption and demand for softwood pulp. This market situation presents ideal conditions for increased forest thinning which, in the long term, will further strengthen both the value and quality of Swedish forests<\/em>,\u201d said Olof Hansson, President of the S\u00f6dra Skog business area.<\/p>\n
