Belarus wants to organize three joint ventures with European companies, as to manufacture wood pellets together.<\/em><\/p>\n

\"We have resumed the negotiations with representatives of European companies over setting up joint ventures to make pellets. We are planning to reach some results by the end of the year,<\/em>\u201d Mikhail Amelyanovich,\u00a0Belarus' Forestry Minister, said.<\/p>\n

At the moment, there have been talks with a Slovak company to establish such joint venture in Vitebsk Oblast.<\/p>\n

Starting January 1st 2015, Belarus has banned the\u00a0exports of unprocessed wood, so the\u00a0logs deliveries to Europe have stopped ever since. The decision was made by\u00a0the Belarusian president, Aleksandr Lukashenko, as to raise the\u00a0volumes of wood\u00a0processed within the country.<\/p>\n

As a result,\u00a0<\/em>softwood lumber\u00a0exports\u00a0from Belarus to\u00a0the European Union countries\u00a0have went up by 41% in 2017.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
