The average price for the exported timber in August was SEK 2,030\/m3, the equivalent of EUR 207.70\/m3, 5.1% more than in August 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The prices for planed softwood have increased only by 1.4%,\u00a0while those for sawn\u00a0softwood declined by 6.7% and for sawnwood by 5.4%.<\/p>\n<p>The largest quantities\u00a0went to Europe, East Asia and Africa. The volumes for Europe have hardly changed as compared to the previous year and, while the exports to Africa were significantly lower, the volumes to East Asia have risen sharply. Exports to Germany fell by 8% year-on-year.<\/p>\n<p>The US is back in the top 10 of the largest buyers of Swedish softwood lumber with a volume of 265,600 cbm until the end of September.
