Bergs Timber has recently announced it will\u00a0invest SEK 27.5mn in reconstructing the sawline at the sawmill in Vimmerby.<\/p>\n
The Swedish sawmill company has bought all the assets of the sawmill\u00a0from Swedish wood industry group Setra. Machinery from the recently disused sawmill in Myresj\u00f6 will be utilized in the reconstruction.<\/p>\n
Setra and Bergs Timber reached an agreement over the acquisition of the\u00a0Vimmerby sawmill back in 2016. At the time, the two companies discussed about\u00a0Bergs Timber buying all fixed and current assets at Setra\u2019s unit in Vimmerby, net of certain operating liabilities, primarily consisting of personnel-related liabilities.<\/p>\n
Setra Vimmerby, which was one of Setra's twelve production units, is located only 40 kilometres from Bergs Timber's facility in M\u00f6rlunda, and has some 50 employees.<\/p>\n
