Mets\u00e4 Group\u2019s Wood Products Industry Mets\u00e4 Wood<\/strong>\u00a0has bought a\u00a0<\/strong>10 hectare industrial site in the city of P\u00e4rnu, Estonia and commences t<\/strong>he construction work of the new birch plywood mill immediately.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The construction of the birch plywood mill in P\u00e4rnu is part of the 100 million euro investment program Mets\u00e4 Wood published in June 2016. The program is carried out during 2017-2018.<\/p>\n

The new mill will create approximately 200 jobs to P\u00e4rnu. The mill will start production by the second half of 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cMets\u00e4 Wood is investing in birch plywood production to better meet the globally growing demand. The location of the new mill in P\u00e4rnu offers very good logistical connections to our main markets. The birch veneers will be manufactured in Finland and converted into plywood at the P\u00e4rnu mill. This is a major investment in our competitiveness. The annual birch plywood production capacity at the P\u00e4rnu mill will be 50 000 cubic metres<\/em>,\u201d says\u00a0Jari Tikkanen, SVP Production and technology at Mets\u00e4 Wood.<\/p>\n

The construction agreement signed between Mets\u00e4 Wood and Nordecon AS includes the construction of the production hall of 29\u00a0000 square metres and the non-work rooms and office premises.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
