Binderholz Nordic Oy will close the\u00a0acquisition of\u00a0Anaika Wood Group\u2019s assets in Lieksa \/ Kev\u00e4tniemi by March 31,2017.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

The Austrian company agreed to the transaction in February 2017 and bought\u00a0 the entire machine park of Anaika consisting of 2 machine lines, a finger-jointing machine, a band saw, a press brake, a stacking machine and drying chambers.<\/p>\n

The planing mill has a production capacity of\u00a0220,000 m\u00b3, and 50,000 m\u00b3 of laminated beech in three-shift operation per year. This represents a\u00a0processing quantity of planed and glued solid wood products in the binder group of approx. 1.2 million m\u00b3 per year.<\/p>\n

With this acquisition, Binderholz expects to make another step towards becoming a full-range supplier for the Asian and US markets. The product portfolio of the mill targets the markets outside Europe (Japan, China, the USA etc). Existing JAS certification of Anaika\u2019s is also part of the deal.<\/p>\n

Binderholz plans to build a new\u00a0pellet plant to utilize\u00a0shavings from the mill.<\/p>\n

The Austrian company is\u00a0a leading European timber materials producer. At 5 Austrian sites (Fuegen, Jenbach, St. Georgen, Hallein and Unternberg) and two Bavarian sites (Koesching\/Interpark and Burgbernheim\/Neustadt an der Aisch) it employes around\u00a01200 people. The company\u2019s range of solid wood products includes dimension lumber, surfaced lumber, solid wood panels edge glued and 3-ply, glulam beams, binderholz CLT BBS and pellet and briquet.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
