{"id":74834,"date":"2017-02-23T11:45:32","date_gmt":"2017-02-23T11:45:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tin.happy-projects.ro\/former-german-pellets-plants-us-bought-drax\/"},"modified":"2025-09-19T08:46:56","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T08:46:56","slug":"former-german-pellets-plants-us-bought-drax","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.timberindustrynews.com\/ro\/former-german-pellets-plants-us-bought-drax\/","title":{"rendered":"Former German Pellets plants in US to be bought by Drax?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><strong>UK\u2019s biggest power station, Drax, has recently made offers to buy two of German Pellets' bankrupted\u00a0US-based biomass pellet plants.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The company, which this month reported a 17% drop in earnings, said it has submitted initial cash bids for Texas Pellets and Louisiana Pellets.\u00a0Texas Pellets and Louisiana Pellets are both going through Chapter 11 bankruptcy processes and are seeking purchasers for substantially all of their assets, Insider Media reported.<\/p>\n<p>The bids from Drax could be accepted, but the buyer will be chose through auctions, which will be held on the 1st and 2nd of March 2017.<\/p>\n<p>\"<em>Drax has previously indicated its intention to expand its self-supply compressed wood pellet operations to support 20-30 per cent of its generation requirement.\u00a0Subject to a disciplined approach to pricing in the auctions, the acquisition of these assets would help Drax meet this target<\/em>,\" Drax said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Texas Pellets is the owner and developer of a wood biomass pellet manufacturing facility located in Woodville, Texas. The plant\u00a0also owns and operate a storage facility and shipping terminal in Port Arthur.<\/p>\n<p>Louisiana Pellets is based in in Urania, Louisiana.\u00a0Their combined capacity is 1 million ton.
