The wintry weather has affected the framing lumber sales last week, while it also caused\u00a0production and transportation problems.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

An overall dull sales pace resulted in more and wider cracks in prices, although producers usually did not aggressively seek orders with hefty discounts. Buyers at all levels of the market stuck to fill-ins, often looking for coverage out of distribution yards and reloads.<\/p>\n

The softening trend pushed the Random Lengths Framing Lumber Composite Price down $1, a third-straight weekly dip.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Random Lengths Panel Market Report<\/strong><\/p>\n

Structural panel trading was weak, while the OSB traders faced the wintry weather. Sales slowed to a crawl as snow, ice, and bitterly cold temperatures stifled the flow of panels to retail yards and job sites.<\/p>\n

Demand for prompt shipment kept Southern Pine plywood mill sales steady. But buyers lacked urgency in replenishing inventories. The sales pace in western Fir plywood was measured, as buyers and producers struggled to reach mutually agreeable trading levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
