In an interview for Reuters, IKEA's CEO Peter Agnefjall said the the company will spend 1 billion euros\u00a0on renewable energy and ways to help poor nations cope with climate change.<\/p>\n

The investments will be \"win, win, win. It's good for customers, good for the climate and good for IKEA too\", said Chief Executive Peter Agnefjall, quoted by Reuters.<\/p>\n

Of the total, the Swedish company will invest 600 million euros in wind and solar power, adding to 1.5 billion invested since 2009 as a target to making it energy independent.<\/p>\n

The other 400 million euros will be handled by the IKEA Foundation, the charitable arm of the group, and will be used to support families and communities in nations vulnerable to impacts such as floods, droughts and desertification, says Reuters.<\/p>\n
