Norwegian wood-products company Moelven will shut down\u00a0N\u00f6ssemark Tr\u00e4 AB sawmill in N\u00f6ssemark, Sweden, impacting 40 jobs, Sverige Radio reported.<\/p>\n
Moleven's CEO, Erik\u00a0Sj\u00f6lund, stated that there are hopes that a new owner could be found. For the moment, a potential buyer has shown interest, however no deal was concluded. As a result, said Sj\u00f6lund, a decision had been taken to decommission the mill.<\/p>\n
Sverige Radio notes that the the sawmill had been making losses for some time. According other reports of the Nordic media, the sawmill's results had been impacted by downward price pressure on raw materials\u00a0and a less prominent position as an exporter to Norway.<\/p>\n
N\u00f6ssemark mill has a production capacity of 95,000 m3 of sawn timber, with whitewood accounting for 75% of output and redwood for 25%.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
