S\u00f6dra seeks to increase deliveries to the United States in the spring of 2015, as demand for wood products in US is on the rise. This Tuesday, from the Swedish port of Varberg, S\u00f6dra's\u00a0largest delivery of sawn timber (30,000 cubic meters) will leave to the United States, said\u00a0H\u00e5kan Svensson, Business Manager of\u00a0S\u00f6dra Wood.<\/p>\n
S\u00f6dra's\u00a0prospects in the US are positive from a market point of view, but also because of the favourable US dollar currency.\u00a0S\u00f6dra already has two warehouses in the US, one in New London (Connecticut) and one in Philadelphia (south of Washington). Now, a third one will be opened in Cape Canaveral, on Florida's east coast.<\/p>\n
''We decided to open a third warehouse in Florida because the market has recovered in this part of the United States. Thus, we will be able to get closer to our customers and offer a cost effective storage solution. Another major advantage of a warehouse in Florida is that the climate assures a smoother consumption throughout the year,'' said\u00a0H\u00e5kan Svensson.<\/p>\n
