German woodworking machinery manufacturer Homag is nearing the end of its largest investment programme to date, with expenditure exceeding \u20ac200 million since its launch in 2021. The latest project, a new production and engineering facility in Poland, was officially opened on 8 October 2026.<\/p>\n
The new site in \u015aroda Wielkopolska represents an investment of more than \u20ac50 million and brings together Homag Polska's operations, previously spread across several buildings in the surrounding area. Approximately 650 employees work at the facility.<\/p>\n
Construction began in October 2024. The complex covers more than 50,000 m\u00b2 and includes a production hall, an automated high-bay warehouse, office facilities and a customer centre.<\/p>\n
The consolidation is intended to reduce internal transportation and improve coordination between manufacturing, engineering, logistics and administration. The customer centre includes a machinery showroom and facilities for technical demonstrations, training and consultation, primarily serving woodworking and furniture manufacturers in Eastern Europe.<\/p>\n
Poland is both a production and engineering location for Homag and a market for its woodworking machinery. The company has operated in the country for 25 years.<\/p>\n
The facility incorporates photovoltaic installations, heat recovery equipment and an automated building management system. Timber was used in the construction of the office building.<\/p>\n
More than \u20ac120 million invested in Germany<\/strong><\/p>\n Homag launched its multi-year investment programme in April 2021 to modernise production facilities and logistics infrastructure across its European operations.<\/p>\n According to the company, approximately \u20ac120 million of the programme has been allocated to German locations, including its headquarters in Schopfloch.<\/p>\n The German projects cover manufacturing facilities, logistics systems, office buildings and a new customer centre.
