Export earnings fell 4.1% to EUR 1.164 billion, while the average export unit value edged up 0.3% to EUR 255.88/m³.

The decline was concentrated in Asia, where shipments fell 18.9% to 1.01 million m³. Europe remained Finland’s largest regional market, taking 2.42 million m³, virtually unchanged from January–July 2025. Shipments to Africa increased 1.8% to 1.04 million m³, putting the continent slightly ahead of Asia by volume.

Egypt remained the largest individual destination, buying 745,996 m³, up 6.9%, and accounting for 16.4% of Finnish exports. Export earnings from the Egyptian market rose 5.6% to EUR 138.33 million. Exports to Saudi Arabia dropped 40.2% to 144,514 m³, while China took 138,444 m³, down 25.8%. Algerian purchases increased 16.4% to 153,798 m³, while Morocco’s imports from Finland fell 31.9% to 86,632 m³.

July brought an improvement in the aggregate figures.
