The German sawmill industry closed 2017 with a positive result. Above all the good 4th quarter dominated the annual result decisively. The overall economic environment continued to improve in 2017: gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to + 0.6 % in the fourth quarter (+ 0.9 % in the first quarter, + 0.6 % in the second quarter and + 0.7 % in the third quarter).
