Russia to raise export duties for lumber
Russian government has increased export duties for lumber with a moisture content of more than 22%, and a thickness and width of more than 10 cm. For softwood, export duties are set at 200 euros per 1 cubic meter, for valuable hardwoods (oak, beech, ash) - from 250 to 370 euros per cubic meter. Officials expect that this will limit the export of unprocessed timber from the country under the guise of lumber.
