While lumber sales in the US go down, prices set new highs
Framing lumber sales in the US started to descend, as compared to the last two weeks. Yet, prices continued to post gains and set new highs. Buyers turned cautious amid the volatility in futures, with the board plunging four straight trading days before bouncing on Thursday. Buyers of Western and Eastern S-P-F turned particularly cautious with futures falling to a major discount to the cash market.
