Hekotek AS has signed a contract to supply log feeding equipment, conveyors for wood chips, sawdust, and sawn timber to the Japanese company Chugoku Mokuzai (Chugoku Lumber Co Ltd.). Chugoku Mokuzai is a wood processing company with several production units in Japan. The new sawmill will replace a production unit destroyed by fire in 2023 in Ibaraki Prefecture, on Japan’s eastern coast. The new unit will process Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) round logs sourced from North America.
