Holmen Wood Products AB has commissioned the construction companies Veidekke and Brinkab to expand the Iggesund sawmill with a new planer. ''The sawmills are the hub of Holmen's circular business and the investment at Iggesund sawmill shows how important the timber business is to the group,'' says Magnus Malmström, site manager at Iggesund sawmill, in a press release. When the new planer with associated timber sorting is in place, it is estimated that the capacity of the sawmill can increase to just over 450,000 cubic meters per year compared to today's 380,000.
