Finland’s sawn timber production is projected to reach 12.4 million m3 in 2017 (compared to 11.4 million m3 a year ago), driven by increasing demand in China and rise in European construction activity.  According to the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke), the recovering global economy and new domestic investments will boost the forest sector in Finland in 2017.  Increasing demand in China is boosting Finland’s exports of pine and spruce sawn timber.
