European softwood lumber exports to the USA continued to rise in the first quarter of 2022, with the pace of growth higher in value terms, as European exporters took advantage of higher prices in the US market (see price chart below). The value of European lumber exports from January to March 2022 was 58% higher yoy and reached a total value of EUR 539 million, while in volume European lumber shipments to the US increased by 11% (up to 1.2 million cubic meters).
