he Finnish softwood lumber exports to the world decreased by -4% during January - May 2018, as compared to the same period of 2017. The softwood lumber volumes exported reached almost 3 million m3 during the mentioned period. The softwood lumber exports to the European Union stagnated at 1,16 million m3 during January-May 2018. Traditionally, the United Kingdom was still the biggest European softwood lumber importer from Finland, despite the -7% drop in purchases, down to a volume of 287 thousand m3.
