Competitive prices drive growth in Japanese log shipments to China
According to China Customs data, between January and April 2025, China imported a total of 593,100 cubic meters of wood from Japan, marking a year-on-year increase of 25%. The value of these imports rose by 28.1% to USD 75.56 million. Notably, nearly 96% of this volume—570,000 cubic meters—was logs, representing a 25.5% year-on-year growth.
