EUDR will change the conditions for selling tropical timber into the EU from the end of December 2026. Importers will need to demonstrate where the wood was harvested and carry the required information through the due diligence process. For exporters, the practical question is whether that information can follow the timber from the forest to the product sold in Europe. That can be relatively straightforward where a producer controls the forest source and processing operation.
