Baltic forestland covers approximately 8 million hectares across Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, representing a significant resource for the Swedish forestry sector. With 40% of Sweden’s timber imports originating from the region, the Baltic states have become an essential part of the supply chain. Over the last century, forest coverage in Latvia has nearly doubled, from 27% to 53%, while Estonia and Lithuania each maintain around 2.3 million hectares of forestland.
