New housing construction in Europe shows signs of recovery
The number of apartments completed in Europe in 2025 will be at its lowest level since 2015. 1.5 million units will be built, 5.5% fewer than in 2024. However, according to the Munich-based ifo Institute, an increase of 3.0% is expected for 2026. In Germany, the negative trend continues: in the worst case scenario, only 175,000 apartments will be built in 2026, 15% fewer than in the previous year.
