Layoffs at Metsä Group’s sawmills due to the weak market situation
The change negotiations for Metsä Group's Vilppula and Lappeenranta sawmills have been completed. After negotiations, it was decided that both sawmills will lay off production workers between September 2024 and January 2025. Targeting, amounts and dates of layoffs will be specified during the end of 2024. Metsä Group justifies the solution with the weak market situation.
