Despite declines in plywood production, Russian timber sector sees mixed performance and exports surge to China
Since the beginning of this year, the output and sales of Russian timber and wood products have declined, and plywood production has reached its lowest point in 10 years. As of June 2023, Russia has harvested 77.8 million cubic meters of commercial timber this year. Although production is increasing every month, it is actually still below last year's levels.
