The Austrian sawmill industry is sufficiently stocked with softwood logs corresponding to the current demand, but there are regional differences.  In the Oberkärnten-Osttirol region, where most of the damaged wood is currently being processed, demand is subdued and hardly any new contracts are concluded. Outside of this region, marketing is seasonal, with a general emphasis on dealing with drought damage and thinning.
