Despite the coronavirus pandemic which first hit China and then spread all over the world, European softwood lumber exports to China managed to rise in volume by 12% in 2020. However, the growth is still considerably lower as in 2019, when exports increased by 37% as compared to 2018.  The European Union countries sent 3.93 million m3 of softwood lumber to China, during 2020, as compared to the 3.4 million m3 that they've sent in 2019.
