In 2018, the concentration of China's plywood industry continued to increase. There were more than 5,300 plywood production enterprises in the country, a decrease of 4.6% year-on-year. The production capacity of these companies continued to increase, and the average production capacity reached 31,100 cubic meters per year. More than 230 companies have an annual production capacity of more than 100,000 cubic meters per year.

Among the producers of plywood products, there are about 65 large enterprises or enterprise groups, accounting for 1.2% of the total number of enterprises, up 0.7 percentage points year-on-year; small and medium-sized enterprises account for over 98%, and the proportion of medium-sized enterprises in major production areas has increased. The proportion of small businesses continues to decline.
