US lumber prices hit lowest level in two years
Disappointment permeated US framing lumber markets, as trading lacked follow-through from the previous week’s pickup in sales. One brighter spot was a modest increase in sales of Southern Pine, as some prices reached what buyers called “investment levels.” Elsewhere, however, a quiet, if not gloomy, tone left prices stalled at best, and many continued to fall — some to levels not seen in two years.
