UK imports much less softwood lumber from the EU countries
UK's softwood lumber imports from the European Union countries seem to start being affected by Brexit, as shown in the results for the first half of 2018. During January-June 2018, the imports reached 2,484 million m3 of softwood lumber, down from 2,457 million m3 in the same period of 2017. While Latvian shipments to the UK grew by 5%, to 448 thousand m3 in the mentioned period, Sweden and Finland sent -14% and -8%, respectively, less softwood lumber.
